hondas
Interested in feed back on honda outboards, am waiting delivery of a new 4.0 hornet trophy with a 40hp 4 stroke. The two motors i had previously tested i was very impressed with. I am situated on the mid north coast nsw (gods country) and yes he was a fisherman, the problem is everyone down here is mercury mad , and feed back is really hard to get. thanks richard

Awesome motor. More sluggish than say a Mercury I think (heavier?) but quieter, smoother and very reliable. You can have a conversation with ease doing flat out across an inlet.
Love 'em.Chris |

You should love your honda, I upgraded from a 40 Mariner 2 stroke to a 50 Honda and I wondered why I didn't do it sooner. Super quite, heaps of grunt and very economical. The 50hp is lighter than its competitors, but I dont know how the 40 rates but you should be very pleased with it.

I had a 25 on a 435 hornet standard hull(not trophy) and was pleased with it, although it was a struggle with 4 up.
Just changed to a 455trophy with a 60 yamaha 4 stroke and on the first outing tried to start the already running motor, it's very quiet. So far I've done nearly 4 hours and only used 13 litres, the honda was every bit as economical, 8 trips on 25 litres |
