New reels from okuma

was just browsing the okuma website and came across some new reels they are bring out soon. There are around 5 new reels. They have finally created a reel with a metal body not that crappy graphite body they have on the older model reels. They have also improved their bearing. They call them high performance bearing (HPB) and extreme element bearings (E2BB). The aveon, alumina and V spinning system reels look extremely impressive.

too true!
i've seen a lot of okuma game reels seeeezed beyoned repair with not lot of sea time.
also had a fly reel pack up after half a dozen tuna.
sure i can't deny they may not have improved thier standards, but as angler 3.55 says, there are alot of reels tried and tested.

Well if you're fishing with something like a cheap avenger yes, you're not going to get too far with it as they aren't very salt tolerant. But if you spend a bit of extra money on something like an okuma epix or an Inspira for instance, you're gonna get a bit better quality. Longer lasting and pretty durable.
