hi Pw

I dont know if it is a successful method i have tried it and had some varing degrees of sucess. That is good one day crud the next, go figure.
Something for the next time?

I dont know if a fish would go after a lure remaining stationary? maybe just a very very slow retrieve.

Cheers

I've had softies taken when stationary on the bottom.
The lures i've just built for myself all have no front treble or hook point. It is much simpler to build that way! I may miss one fish every now and then, but at the same time, i may catch more as the lure will look more appealing without the extra hardwear!

Stuie, as soon as Warren and MadFish had got 5 in the bag, out came the 68, and Kurt followed suit. Id say the 68 nailed as many as the 52..... Awesome stuff..... seeing a flash 40m away, and wondering am I on???, then zzzzzzzzz hell yeh your on.... watch him run......

cheers

Absolutely the 68 caught a pile of fish. My weigh in 5 were on it as well.

Hi,
Some observations from polaroiding the Derwent Rv (Tas) are that bream will take the rear hook 90% of the time if the lure is on a straight slow retrieve. When doing the 'float up' though, we find that about 70% of our hits are on the front treble (on a 2 treble lure). This makes sense given bream's propensity for biting the belly out of pilchards and the like. If a prey is disabled ie. floating I guess it makes sense to just rip it's 'guts' out. We get plenty when the lure is on the surface too, sometimes a fish will eyeball it for 5 seconds before either hitting it or losing interest.
Cheers,
Rigzz

Very interesting, I just asked the question about fishing with/without the middle treble on another thread and then find the answer here. Like everything it seems to boil down to "what works on the day"
Think I'll keep about 50/50 on my hb's and go from there.

Chris, I hardly think bream would be classed as intelligent but if they are would it then mean that they feel pain, off the subject of the thread I know, but interesting.
