leader knot help
Got the patto round coming up in a few weeks n last week I broke a bone in my thumb , n now its in a splint it makes doing things tough especially trying to tie knots with out being able to use ya main thumb, any recommendations on some leader knots that are a bit easier to tie, useing 0.6 pe with 5-4 lb leader thanks

Worse case Scenario, the Daiwa knot tool is pretty good and doesn't really require your thumb. I tie horrible knots personally and this little thing has helped me with micro guide issues.

4 or 5 turn surgeons knot.
Nothing could be simpler I reckon.

+1 for three turn surgeons knot for all light applications. With heavier leader I use the Allbright special.

Happy user of the Surgeon knot aswell.
Have only ever done 5 turn for all diameters. To the users who use 3 turn wouldn't it be best to use less turns for larger diameter line like your typical uni knot? How does it go on 3 pound leaders etc? Will have to give the 3 turn a crack! |
