Locked Blood knot / Vanish
Hi guys,
Last outing went to Eildon lake - trolling. Re-tied the lure to the fresh length of Vanish 6 pound leader, using locked blood knot. When pulling the knot I have noticed that Vanish just after the knot became thinner in area about 1-1.5 mm in length. After few casts the lure got snagged and while I was putting some pressure to get the lure back, the leader broke at the knot. It wasn't something over, just the usual pressure you may apply to retrieve the lure. But I'll tell you, I am not happy with this stuff. Does anyone experienced the same before? Is it a blood knot? What is the best knot to tie the leader to the hook/lure? Cheers, Alex |

May be a silly question, but was the knot well luuuubbed before you gave it a tugg?
Spittle helps stop this from happening. |

I used to have the same problem with vanish and a locked blood knot.
I changed to a double uni knot and have never had a problem since.
