according to the australian anglers association of WA, the national fish record for yellowfin bream is 4.445 kg and the black bream is 3.45 kg. the page is HERE if anyone wants to have a look. current as of 30/6/2010.

Don't mean to hijack, but does anyone know what the heaviest Yellowfin Bream ever weighed in an ABT sanctioned event is?

Emo I think Slick's 1.99kg Yellowfin from Forster still stands as the record.

Cheers, Dror

Fished as a Game species now in Australia and possibly could be registered??

Can't all fish get recorded as largest on recorded line breaking strain? pretty sure in Japan it is through their own game fishing association, is it possible through local associations?

there are some records on the IGFA website for bream, but not yellowfin (Acanthopagrus australis) or black bream (Acanthopagrus butcheri). the black bream they have listed on their site is actually a sooty grunter.

IGFA all tackle records are HERE if you want to check out other species.
