Twinpower VS Stradic CI4

twinpower,i've got 2 of the 1000fb and rate them highly-best reel i've ever used and alot of the guys i fish with and know use them too

mrs has the stradic 1000 ci4 its a wicked reel feels really nice, i have a twinpower im picking up on friday cant wait to use it

well some insite from someone who has both reels in his hand at the moment, stradic 1000 ci4 is nice and smooth and light its 165g the twinpower 1000fb is realllllly smooth but is 210g i belive that the ci4 you can pick up for a reasonable price if you shop around (ebay had heap for 200ish from the US) and my twin power i picked up for 209 brand new would i pay that for both reels again............. in a heartbeat they are fantastic

personally the lighter the better for me apparently im fussy according to the boys at my tackle shop...my fiancee (Kenshin) above has the twinpower fb and althought i like his reel i find it a little heavy for me i think for the money the stradic c14 is AWESOME im wrapped with it although i think shimano could ve put a spare spool with it and maybe a rod bag lol all in all both are great reels but the c14 gets my vote!!!! p.s maybe have a look at the shimano symetre not an expensive reel but FANTASTIC for the money its 10grams lighter than the twinpower fb but smooth and a great little reel which i have as my second reel and have no complaints its smooth and gutsy and i ve not heard an ill thing about it!!!!

I will assume you are talking about the current Twinpower Fc model.
Twinpower Fc made in Japan
Stradic CI4 made in malaysia
Go and see them in person and you will see and feel why all top end Shimano reels are made in the Japan factory. Far tighter tolerances and better build quality.

I heard that the new stradic C14 is made of graphite, which means its lighter but it means it more likely to break if you were to drop it.

I have both the Ci4 Stradic and the normal 1000FI Stradic, and the difference the weight makes is unbelieveable after a while. I have been using the Ci4 for a couple of months now and love it - my FI was kept as a spare. The other day I used 2 rods (SP and HB rod, I don't use SP's often as the blowfish here are terrible) and finally used the 1000FI on the 1-3kg T-Curve and I couldn't imagine using it as my main reel anymore. Besides the wear on it - it is no longer the smoothest reel in the world from 2 trips to Exmouth - it was the weight that turned me off it now. The Egrell S1 rod I use with the Ci4 is a heavier rod than the T-Curve, but with the lighter reel, it felt much better balanced and much lighter than the T-Curve combo.

HookMeUp - it isn't made of Graphite, but a similar design to carbon fibre I believe. Very light and very strong. I'll be testing it back to back up north again in April with the FI to see how strong it is.

So anyway, with regards to the Twinpower, it is probably a better build, maybe, but the weight is important as well to the overall balance. Bring the rod you will mostly use with it to a tackle store and try them both on. I'm told many shop owners rate the Ci4 over the current Twinpower, but I'm no expert on that. I haven't actually had much of a play with the Twinpower myself. I think Japan or the UK do a Ci4 version of the Twinpower as well?

have a c14, went in to get a twinpower but they didnt have any, yeah id say it would be made from graphite definately lighter which is good as far as my rod reel match up goese
