Cheers guys, man it would have been fun if I stayed connected as it was on the mullet rod trying to catch livies for the bigger jewies!

Re- PM
Sorry mate - I used to have some scales lying around but I think I've thrown them out - all I have left is this dodgy pic ![]() Maybe search you tube or google for vids of people cleaning mulloway or just a photo of their scales |

Thanks a lot for the photos guys, any more suggestions as to what it could have been?
It looks different to the scales pictured but I'm assuming their scales vary a bit. From memory it smelt like a mulloway too as thats the first thing I did to check if it was. |

There's a few swimming around with the Jewie schools - and they are taking on a more silver hue at the moment.
I'll grab a carp scale next time I nab one and get a better pic Last edited by yellow door 1; 30-05-2013 at 11:44 AM. |

p.s. Blokes with better noses than mine, tell me Carp and Mulloway have a similar odour.

Here's a google image of a carp scale, next to the one you found.
if you ignore the snail like swirl in the middle - (Its been superimposed over the image) - the scales are a pretty good match Last edited by yellow door 1; 30-05-2013 at 06:57 PM. |
