Does anyone know where I can find the Above mentioned blanks?
Have done a few searches but have come up with nothing.
Cheers for any help.

Thanks Iso to the Kaze Yeah have had a look around to no avail as well. Love the rod but just think the could be improved with K guides. Hopefully some one on here know where there a secret stash.

You still rockin the SR GLX

Get a TSR 862 GLX I say.

I havn't seen the blanks myself. K guides would be a decent option but my guess is you may lose that GLX feel with the blank and may lose sensitivity. I'm no expert on the matter that's for sure though.

Good Luck!

Love the k series, get the titanium one.
or you can get the same guide setup but upgrade to titanium guides.

Buy a second hand glx and bling it up if you cannot find the blank

Loomis stopped selling blanks when Shimano bought them out. You can still buy some blanks online from some rod building suppliers but I doubt very much that you will get a 842-2 GLX.
MHX make them but they aren't GLX standard. Could try Northfork Composites???

Check Mudhole. I heard their MHX are Loomis? Might be a chinese whisper?

They have similar model numbers on some.

The TSR is nice but I like the shorter butt of the SR, and I currently run two SRs and fish with them constantly and have grown so use to them that when I pick up anything else, just doesnt feel the same.
Sensativity wise if you keep the same number of guides and same Titanium material it should come out all right (assuming the Ti Ks are the same weight as the ones currently on the SR. not sure!)

The existing guides on the SR are Titanium. Second hand option is still a fairly substantial outlay as most still go for around 350-400 then adding the guides and rodbuilders cost would put it around $600 with no warranty

Yeah as mentioned earlier I'm so used to my SR that a different rod wont be as forgiving for my unko cast.

The main reason for the K guides is that I have found that using leader 8lbs or more I start getting guide wraps at either the second or thrid guide from the tip. the heavier you go the more often guide wraps occur. An option maybe to just change the top three guides? Dunno whether this will work, maybe a rod builder can comment.
Cheers for the replies thus far.
