dissapearing bream

i have noticed lately that spots that i fished in may and june which would produce 30+ to the fork bream are only producing barely 20+ fork bream. i have tried the same techniques and new but cant seem to find those quality fish. any ideas

I think you'll find that the seasons have something to do with that

Cool Try And

Try and use hevier blades and cast 10 m further the big bream are there its the big ones sit further back sometimes unless they are feeding

Bream (and most estuarine species) move throughout river systems systematically coinciding with changing salinty levels they will back at a similar time next year providing conditions are similar to what they were this year

will yellow fin bream be moving into deeper water or shallow water as the water temp increases. i only started fishing for bream in march this year so im unsure about targetting them in the warmer months

Yes they are, and if its black bream you are chasing then spring is the time to start heading further up stream!!! Where theres a little less salt in the mix.

Hi mate

IMO, I think the bream are moving back up stream from re-entering from the ocean/beaches during spawning time.

Locally they seem to be pushing into the middle of the system and sitting around the edges of the river at the moment. 2 months ago they were sitting along rock walls close to the ocean.

Better still, leave them alone to do their thing, and target them later when the job is done.

sometimes they get used to seeing the same thing over and over again so it might pay to try some completly different lures or techniques and see if that works

sometimes the fish are just somewhere else,other than where you are fishing.where?who knows
