Lightbulb Rate these guys...

I've found it hard going finding the 52 and 68 scorpions in the shops but turned up these promising fellas:

RMG Poltergeist 50, (R11: gold n orange, dives to 3m+)
Killalure Pak Rat 45 (Ti: Tiger Stripe, dives to 1m+)
Halco Combat 50 (H51: gold n black, dives to 2.5m+)

I've used the old skool combats (floating) for trout and perch in the past and they've been alright. I 'needed' some larger lures for my trip to Walpole next week - i'll fill you in on how they went when i get back.

Just out of interest, I've had the same problems finding these lures. You can get your hands on the 68 but the 52 is extinct as far as I can see.

My guess is the only specimens still left alive are in the private collection of R.D.

I used the combat down in Walpole for the comp. It was brilliant on the flats as digs a nice channell and the bream grab it.

I took Madaff's advice and lure and it worked. We have since purchased a few more in the same colour as they are no longer making the colour I used. I would tell you the colour, but I can't at the moment as my tackle bag is in the back of JP's car. Will post the colour when he gets home tonight

Cheers

Mim

I've got the poltergiest and can say that it is better suited too bridges and stuff where the water is very deep. It would work well on the deeper flats though. It certainly catches fish though!!! Particularly that colour.

Kmart have plenty of the 52 Scorpions in a range of colours, all in the original RMG packaging. They've also got Poltergiests and Combats, I've got some Lasers and Combats from years ago, never got bream on them though.

Well I certainly know where a few went Id suggest you go through the KMarts as well, ones that restock the fishing tackle often (some don`t) as they would get more from the Kmart warehouse who probably has shitloads. The ones you mentioned all work, but the 52 or 68 scorp is just more consistent. Carousel - not sure as myself and MickB cleaned that one out, as well as Belmont, left 3 in Maddington and thats about all from what I can think. But where theres a KMart theres a possibility of an R11 DD 52. I also heard that a tackle shop in Morley has taken delivery of a few. Thats about all I can offer, except Ive had the word it is fishing real hard in Walpole this week, so i hope it turns around a little bit for ya.

cheers

The colour that I used in Walpole in the combat was black on the top through to yellow underneath. I just had a look at the Halco web site and they are not making them any more. JP picked up a couple from Campbells when we got back. They may still have a few left.

Good luck

Only a couple in my tackle box. We'll be stocking the larger sizes in a short while. Anything chrome out of Halco is a wait at the moment unfortunately.

Warren.

Not surprising hey Warren, everyone changes like the wind or should that be tide . Wasn't that long ago when anglers where saying that if you wanted bream on lures, then soft plastics is the only way to go. My, my how things have changed. No company can keep up with the way things are moving, so patience please.

I suppose im still lucky enough to have a few up my sleeve, but Ive lent them to Geoff, so they could be anywhere at the moment (up power lines etc ) Cant wait to see the range when you have them up and running Warren.

Cheers

Richo
