Sufix MATRIX PRO super braid

Tested this stuff today. Look out for it. I was very impressed with its performance.

No springing off the spool, no casting knots, easy to tie. Same diameter as 4lb braid but of course rounder which gives the increased body feel.

A pleasure to fish with. Give it a go!

10lb line with the diameter of 4lb braid? No wind knots, no jumping off spools, round profile, sounds almost too good to be true...

It seems that way... but i fished it and it worked really well. Not sure of the price yet, i would say its about the same as XDS.

Then why do people use XDS- its 8lb only 2lb different.

If your comp fishing, you want fish in the boat not playing games round the bottom of the river. Its just a new concept being a round braid, and it performs well. Not the problems associated with the first time use of normal fireline or sufix and doesnt lose colour.

Apparently they do make an 8lb version, but it costs heaps to produce so it wont be distributed here.

Not havin a go man

Same size as 4lb, i would rather fish with it than without it, especially in some snaggy systems where you gotta pull freight trains out of big logs and rock bars. I understand 4lb is sporting, but i guess i kind of made this for comp anglers who are alwys looking for the edge. 10lb line at 4lb diameter just seems way more efficient to me.

Sufix also makes the Herculine is supposedly the thinnest of their braided line up. IT is much thinner than the Matrix per their web spec.

Wonder if anyone tried it.

Hi Guys,
This is new to Aust, made in Japan by Linesystems and was released in Aust at the trade show in August. it's REAL PE BRAID (PE meaning it braid coated with Polyetholene not gelspun).
Retails around the price of XDS, As I,m sponsored by Linesytems I won't go on about how good it is I will just say give it a try, you won,t be dissapointed.

The sufix matrix pro line comes in 8Lb too. In my opinion it has a thinner diameter than 4lb fire line.

So far I've got my Spinfisher 8500 spooled with 30lb matrix pro and my Popper chucking Applause 7000 spooled with the 15Lb. It peels off your reel increadibly smooth. I'm yet to use a braid as good as this.

I think someone asked about the price? Its actually cheaper than a lot of lines. At first I thought it would probably suck cos it was fairly cheap.

Suffix make an even thinner braid then the Matrix Pro, it is called Herculine, the only problem I found with it is you need to watch your knots when tying them and some harder leader materials aren't suitable as the thin diameter of the braid will cut straight through them.

Mick,

Sounds like you have used Herculine. Mind if I ask what lb test? And did you compare the same lb test side by side with Matrix Pro?

The interesting thing is that in the very heavy strain, Herculine is thicker than Matrix Pro but in the lighter strain, the Matrix Pro is thinner.

This makes me wonder if Herculine in the lighter is more of a flat/tape shape, and they measure thickness in the thin axis.

Thanks!
UL
