Gday from Keeno!
Hi guys n gals
Ive been silently reading and digesting all the posts and have decided its time to join in My setup is nothing special Okuma FI 30 with 6lb fireline matched with a silstar 6' something a rather. Been cutting my teeth down ascot waters way like most other newbies. Had no success at all the first time fishing around the boat marina using muscadine sliders n tilsans. Second time i was down there i took the boat ( No electric so we drifted n lowered the anchor n what not) Landed 2 bream (26cm + 29cm) released both on sneakyscorp 35 fluoro green colour missed another 2. Headed towards guildford and this lure got no attention wot so ever for 3 hours. Seem to have understood the hard bodies a littlef but the plastics just arent working for me. Im using 1/16th jigheads by the way Cheers |

Hey Keeno.
Pretty much the same story here. Went down Guildford this morning with Muscadine sliders and nothing. The bream were there though, chucked out some bait for a couple of good hits. At ;least you've got some bream on lures, good work |

Hey torvic
and thanks mischievious yeah i headed out myself today on the boat went down to guildford also used a gold tilsan around the bridge got 2 good knocks but no hookups hanged around some snags around guildford using sneaky35's and some amber 2" atomic grubs but no hits at all. Moved to Ascot Waters ( Home of the Rookies) and first cast got a bream airborne missed hooking up again!! I need some gamagatsu trebles i think an easy 35cm fish missed a few more inside AW. ended up with 3 flatties all on the 2" amber atomics mates got a few bream on prawns which didnt impress me much but oh well i guess there gunna win some. Still no bream on the plastics. Guildford bridge seems hard to work. Strong current n couldnt get the 1/16th jigheads down and the tilsan struggled to get down next to the pylons? any ideas wot to do there? Cheers |

cody: what time of morning were you fishing the guildford area?? mitch and i were out last week and we found that the fish didnt really start hittin the lures until about 10ish. i landed one earlier on and then had a quiet period for about an hour, but then i landed another and mitch got smoked by a decent fish. only 2 landed fish for the day but missed quite a few hits- think i need to put the middle treble back on the lure
-not a very sucessful day(the river seems to be very slow going at the moment) but i was suprised at how late in the day they came on the bite though

Hey Keeno
I fished the Guildford area this morning in my boat (may have passed you a couple of times) for 4 landed, best 33cm and 2 dropped. The tide was ripping this morning and I only got 1 fish before 9am.I have found in that area you have to move around to find the fish and have never had any luck chucking around the bridge.Keeno,Cody,Evan what do your boats look like?Mine is the orange 4m pride runabout. If you see me on the water stop for a chat.

Hey keeno
welcome to the site. I fished ascot waters friday evening from about 5 o clock to 8. fished both bridges and the rock wall, changed lures about half a dozen times for the grand total of zero fish. couple of hits late but that was it. I think the hot weather may have something to do with it. |
