yamaha 30hp
Looking at purchasing a poly 4.1 tiller steer and i have got a package price that comes with a 30 hp yammy cv. Is this model ok or does it run too rough, and what about fuel efficiency?
The engine price is roughly $2,950. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers |

Gotherat,
Go for a 40, the boat goes much better with the little bit extra grunt. I have a mate who has a poly with the 30 and i have a forty. He has spent countless hours changing props adding permatrims ect and he is still not that happy. I went for the Tohatsu 2 stroke, it simple and bullet proof. It only gets used for getting me to my destination then is on the electric for casting and trolling. Cheers |

I agree, Go the 40. I've been in Poly's with both the 30 and the 40 and the 30 just had to work way to hard, even with only two adults (the owner really regretted the thirty). Even the forty struggled with two average size adults and my hefty bulk, but it was still being set up, so some prop and engine placement tuning may have fixed it.
