Best Rod for rockwalls

Hi guys and girls ... I was stitched up on a breakwall by a decent breambo topwater fishing .. I was using a Palms Pinwheel 7'6 which I usually use on the flats .. just thought it had too much flex and was rubbed off on rocks
Got me thinking about what would be a suitable rod for the job .. what would you recommend for that close quarter work?
Cheers
PS .. does anyone use PRAWN DOG .. topwater lures? Opinions?

I'm picking up a Gen Black Pinster that I'd use in that situation, but that's for my modest budget. Something shorter with plenty of guts I guess is they key. 2-5kg seems about right to me.

I use a destroyer racing condition 2-5kg med fast taper. Any ballsy fast to med-fast tapers rod around 6'6" would suit IMO.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe you should turn your drag knob clockwise?

Could still get dusted using a long slow rod.

Yep .. long slow rod was more the issue ... drag was set pretty tight .. the bream didn't take drag .. it was the lunge that brought me undone
Cheers

Im wondering what the cast weight range would be for a 2-5kg stick. Is it going to be suited to the majority of lighter bream lures?!?!? I just think 2-5kg might be an unnecessary overkill. I've got 1-2kg rods that i consider on the heavy side for bream.....

Yes mate, 1-10g. You can cast 1/28oz HWS jigheads without a problem, let alone a 3g crankbait. It's not overkill when the terrain is hairy.
