exploring exmouth with flyrod

i was wondering if anyone has fished gales bay or giralia bay (south of the bay of rest)with the flyrod
ive fished a lot around exmouth from the shore and a small trip to the bay of rest where the fishing was vgood
but was thinking of planning a trip right down into the gulf i will have a 5m boat and im sure there would be some good fish down there (someone once mentioned ocasional barra and bones)
does anyone have any thoughts or info of fish or conditions

G'Day James,

I haven't fished up there myself, but the fly club started to plan a trip up there and I had a chat to a few people that have fished the area.

I think the Barra in the creeks are a hit and miss thing, but they do get them there, along with jacks.

If you get a chance, have a chat with Roland at Crackel for Tackle in the city, he fished it only a few months ago and has a few mates that go up there regularly. Crackel for Tackle is closing down at the end of this month due to the new train line going through, Roland is heading up to exmouth to help with some guiding.

You used to be able to stay at Giralia station, but CALM have recently taken over the area so I'm not sure of the accomodation details anymore.

Cheers,

Cole
