howdy,
dont think anyone has matched a reel to the raiders as yet, cause i dont think anyone can get their hands on one!!! least not here in brissy, anyway... been waiting what seems like forever to try one out..... any of the smaller threadlines (1000-2000/2500) should fit nicely... plan on putting a daiwaTD-S2000 on one if they feel nice enough... if not, gonna have to sell a kidney or two and get a loomis.... by all reports, you only need one.... the raiders should be out any day now... any day.. tim

We got the 6'2" Barra Raider in just before christmas, very impressive in the shop but haven't taken one out for a fish yet - looks to be just the thing for the local jacks. Hopefully the bream rods will arrive soon. Im keen to try out the rack raider on the moreton bay sweetlip which are everywhere at the moment. Theyre great fun on 3" Saltwater Assassins and 8 - 12lb braid.

Im at Fish Head in Redland Bay Give me a call on 07 3206 7999 and I'll keep you informed on the raiders. BTW there are some monster bream in the creeks around here at the moment. I had a 40+ fish try to eat a 90mm jack lure right at the canoe the other day. Got drenched and almost fell out in shock. The local kids have got onto a couple of big ones around the Redland bay marina as well, on 2 inch single tails. Maybe the big bustoffs I got up the creek weren't from jacks after all! Cheers Duncan

hey duncan,
might have to do that.... have tried around the redland bay canals before, but just a couple of small moses perch and a VERY strange looking flathead.... wasnt sure if you were allowed to fish the marina itself on foot so i left it alone.. any suggestions of spots to try landbased? starting to get a bit embarassing: Two bream, yes, TWO LOUSY BREAM in my spinning career... Grand total length= app. 15cm( to the tip!!!) rather lame, wouldnt you say?? gonna have to do something that.... any help would be greatly appreciated... ta, tim

Hi Tim
Try the Redland Bay harbour area early morning/late evening on the top of the tide and the jetty beside the car ferry at the same time. You can wade the gravel patch at the end of Bay St, Redland Bay on a rising tide. Also the sand flats at the mouth of Eprapah Ck on the northern side of Victoria Pt. Coochiemudlo Is is only a short ferry ride from Victoria Pt and has heaps of shallow gravel banks and Coffee rock formations - you'll pick up Snapper and Sweetlip there too. Try and find a 2nd hand 1 person fishing Kayak, at $300-400 Its the cheapest way to open up a heap of good fishing country. There is a heap of good lure fishing in Moogarrupum (sp??) Ck and Eprapah Ck. Ive heard Tingalpa Ck is well worth the effort too. Hope this helps Cheers Duncan
