Possible Sponsorship

We are looking at sponsoring a Victorian angler who fishes both Abt & Classic events.

We would prefer someone who is a boater and is reasonably ranked and gets consistent results and regular podium finishes, also a help if you are using ZipBaits and feel confident with them.

Also we do have expectations of how we want you to promote the more business we get that directly relates to you the more goodies you get, it's a performance based deal.

If you would like to get product sponsorship with some of the best lures on the Bream scene please drop us a PM with some details and we will get back to you.

Cheers
Mark

Maybe you can do a profile of each of your sponsored anglers in each state when you get the aussie web site up and running Mark?
Or a blog from each of them in regards to techniques and reports on how the new products are?
Cheers Dale.

I dont think blogs are good for sponsored anglers. Generally information is not directly relevant to products.

What I thought would be a good idea for a site is allowing the sponsored angeler to comment on available lures, techniques and such, that way the lure has a blog. I dont care what how the guy went out fishing but how a lure was used is more interesting, pics of captures on that lure and so on.

I was in the process of proto typing this for someone but the project got canned.

But this doesnt get you an angler in Vic You should be able to trawl through comp results and compose a short list.

COrrect me if im wrong here, but imo i dont think comp results and consistency in high finishes make someone worthy of sponsorship they way the carry them selves at an event the attitude to other anglers and the way they promote the product are very important. I can assure you there are some guys who are great anglers but are a marketing flop (no disrespect to anyone) There are some blokes who hardly ever finish in the top ten but who still have good backing. Regular podium finishes are not everything, i think we have seen some of the best of the best finish well below the field on more then one occasion, and no new sponsored angler should put them selves under the pressure of having to have regular podium finishes.
This is just my view not having a dig at anyone.

Well said Dan, couldn't agree more. if you get the right person, whether they win or not they will promote and increase sales of your product..

Some valid points there Dan but experience tells me that the guys that are the higher profile anglers that are getting on the podium and mentioning that they've used ZipBaits to win sells lures that's specifically why I want someone in Vic that fits this bill.

But also considering guys based on the what you've said also Dan, I've recieved some replies from guys that don't necessarily fit the high profile angler bill that are worthy candidates that I won't ignore

yeah for sure Mark i see what you mean and id do the same thing. I think its also important for everyone to realise sponsorship is about the whole package eg. performance as much as it is to be a good ambassador. No point being a tounament performer but stand there with ripped dirty sponsor cloths with a beer and a smoke hangin out of your mouth.

Im sure Mark wont mind me saying that he needs someone to be a complete marketing tool, well spoken, product knowledge, presentation and fishing ability. Remember Mark is investing $$ in you therefore you need to present and promote as well as fish and also talk to him about what you are doing and keep him informed.
This is just from my experiences in the past 12 month of what has been expected of me and also what i expect from a sponsor.

Having someone who features in magazines on a regular basis should also be a high priority. The market outside of the tournaments would probably be larger than the one with-in.
