Rod 2-4kg or heavier. Line 10lb braid with 25lb leader. Lures Squidgy 80mm fish in silver fox. Drop in tight around submerged logs and you should be sweet.

Keep at it, you will eventually get them. At the moment I wouldn't bother to chase them , just wait till it warms up.
I like to chase Jacks on surface around marina rock walls and stuff.
I just use 20lb fireline and a 20 leader, it does it for me.

Cheers

Mick

i use 30 lb braid and 50lb leader and still get smoked through summer.... go as light as you dare, but remember they are not leader shy bream..... i recommend go heavy, cause u never know if that 5.5kg is there and not the 2.5kg averge ones.. just an opinion

or if u just wanna stay around currumbin/talli 19th av lake is a good option on the run out tide, of the river side.
or just go to japonica.... get some tarpon and giant herring there too
