Hopefully some good news

Further to my gripe on undersize fish being taken from the Marybinong and Fisheries didnt seem to act. I took the advice of a few bream master members and emailed the head of the fisheries department.
Well i recieved a phone call today from them asking about my email at first saying the patrol the river quite often to which i replied i have fished it most weekends and never seen them for ages.
They told me i should ring 13fish on the day to which i said i had, then they came up with the excuse that the rostered oncall person might not be from melbourne.
After a long chat they assured me they would patrol the river soon.

heres hoping

I have fished this fiver for over 6 years both boat/land and i have never seen or been asked for licences etc.I have called 13fish several times and always hear the same old excuse no one is rostered on in that area today. So i have now decided not to even bother calling anymore.Hopefully soon they will get caught and drowned in the river.

Cheers FW

These damn fisheries tracked me and Hazy about 5 Kms through bush, hills, snow and blackberry bushes up in the high country a few years ago. I had parked the car at a bridge and was walking a tiny creek Trout fishing between Omeo and dinner Plain

When they finally caught up to us all they wanted to do was check our fishing licenses.

This little excersize must have taken them 2 hours. If they spent 2 hours checking the fish soup brigade along the Nong and the warmies on any given weekend they would make a killing from fines.

But don't hold your breath, obviously making sure we have licenses is more important to them than protecting fish stocks
