stripping back

Anyone know of the best way to strip a rod back to the blank. Any info appreciated.

sharp razor blade and a dremil with a cut off wheel is all i use when doing a complete strip, bit of light heat migh be required when attacking the glue from under the seat..also a good tip for eaither cork of EVA grips.. i have a CHEEp serated carving knife..works a TREAT at getting grips of in a hurry, just be carfull not to go to close to the blank or you could damage it

said tool broke it on a 7kg chum salmon in canada, finally found pieces while unpacking
