Cause of a custom breakage!!!

Just picked up my custom 2kg G-USA rods on friday and the first time i were to use them would be down at walpole for the team challenge this weekend... so excited to use em i hook my first fish which was a kilo plus bream and as im about the net it... 3 guides from the tip the rod snaps( and no i didnt high stick it the rod tip was 4 ft of the water) , the rod had very little bend in it and it was the first time it had been loaded i couldnt believe my eyes when it snapped under no pressure at all... has anyone had this happen to them and could it be a faulty blank?, because i had 2 of the same rods and i used the second one all weekend catching massive skippy with no worries at all...

Did the rod guides snapp off at the guides shaft or did the bindings come off with it?

weird man i have 5 hastings rods and the only one i broke was when i deliberately reefed the locker door open when the rod was stopping it opening. I have stepped on mine, hit the tips on snaps when popping jigheads off and they are bullet proof.

Check with jarrad maybe...

Sounds poorly built if you ask me, simple as that, could it possibly have copped a knock whilst getting made up...... It is unusual for a Hastings to go like you mentioned, especially on its first use. They are supposed to be the ducks nuts in strength......

Thumbs down Two Uncle's did in one day!!!

My two uncles who are so close & fish all the time,we call them the siamese twin's LOL.
They got to one of their favourite fishing place's with brand new rod's,the same as you have described.Everything was set & ready to go,but, they just fell apart in similar place's???
All looked well & healthy with them both until the first & LAST CAST!!!

To say they we're not happy, would be an understatement :-( So,far, not even an offer of help or assistance,or even a replacement!!!!!!!!!!! "SHAME SHAME SHAME" :-(

Gae.

Model number spaniel??? sound like a non-helix model
High modulus graphite mate.....they break .....I did a URS70ML on its first outing landing a mid size sambo.....

Depending on the model there is warranty on 'faulty' blanks.
Your rod crafter should be able to sus it out for you....

And Peter.....Hastings make Graphite-USA blanks
