1 piece or 2 piece

I know every angler has their own opinions. I'm just curious on what you guys prefer when buying a rod for fishing sp's and hb's for bream. Are you a 1 piece person or a 2 piece? i myself am a 1 piece person for no particular reason. I just find the 1 piece rods more appealing for sum reason.

I prefer 2 peice, mainly because i dont have a car, but i still think ill buy 2 peices when i get a car .I find them much more convineint, and you dont really lose that much bend in the rod.JMO

Cheers,
nathan

A well built 2 piece rod should display no difference to me. I have a 2 - 2 piece rods I use for plastics and they have proven themselves time and time again. I've seen Craig C load up on the 7' Reaper on some good Trevs up north and they did very well.

The main issue I find with 2 piece rods is the lack of options at top end rods. Almost all top end rods bar a few exception are one piece. Probably a good thing in the end, this way I'm not as poor as I could be.

Yep you can buy the top section of daiwa's. They can be replaced for about half the original retail price of the complete rod.

I'm currently on the 3rd tip for my heartland.

I was waiting for that

If you want to send me your best 1-3kg tip I'll recreate the conditions under which mine were broken.

On one occassion it was 50kg downward pressure and the other was 100kg.

In the higher end stuff the 2 piece rods are no different to the one piece in terms of strength. Because I like my rod length at 7 foot, a 2 piece is a lot more convenient in terms of transporting around, storing at home, cleaning it etc. Take this as an example, even if you have a car to take it around in, when you get to your spot and walk to where you're fishing or in between spots and you want to stop by a shop to grab a bite to eat, its a lot more convenient to have a 2 piece where you can fold and carry around instead of having to watch that 1 piece 7 foot thing so you don't impale it into some passer-by or crach it into the ceiling (or worse, powerlines).
