I have a couple of combos, but this is my current favorite:

Diawa Sol 2500 matched to a Okuma 7'6" Celilo rod.

6lb Nitlon PE braid with 6lb Nitlon leader.

Current favourite lures with this combo would have to be squidy wrigglers and bugs.

I'm swinging a Buccaneer Custom as well (Loomis SJ6400 GL2 modified), matched to a Pflueger President 25. Running 8 lb Nitlon PE Braid right now. Now swinging a 4 pce All Star Buccaneer Custom, matched to a Shimano Biomaster 1000. Funny thing is I am yet to catch a bream on this rod!

Leaders get chopped and changed depending on what we're after. A lot of the time it's 20 lb, sometimes 20 with a bit of 40 lb. Don't get much bream in the regular spots, although that time of year is coming again. When after bream I drop down to 12 lb or even 8 lb Nitlon Fluorocarbon. There's always the chance of a barra, jack, GH, trevally or tarpon in the spot where we can regularly taget the breamskis.

The good ol' 3" BM is my go to SP. Don't fish HB's all that much, but have used Mira Shads, SureCatch minnows, and DIY poppers. Even when using the micro lures, we pick up everything, and maybe a couple bream too.

fave bream rod

I use a GL Loomis bronzeback with shimano stradtic 1000 and 6 lb braid..good for trout and small hard bodies

also an ian miller bream buster 7 " 1 with shimano stradtic 2000 and 6 lb braid

now paying off a daiwa airty and a daiwa heartland z rod.....$700 + worth !!

when i have to crank big lures i use a browning rod with shimano stratdic 3000 but no braid...mann's strech 5 + in the pink and black kicks ass around the royal freshwater yatch club usually gets the bigger fish interested....
