Yeah I find it is smooth and has a nice drag.

I'm no tackle fiend though and I probably don't judge my gear as hard as some on this site.

First I was a shimano fan and still have a handfull of stradics and ultegras.
Next I fell in love with daiwa.
3x 2000 Certate
2x 2500 Certate
2x 2000 TDZ
1x 2000 Luvius

My latest craze has been Quantum reels.
I ony have a handful. they are the Quantum Energy PTi 10 and 20 models. I love em. Great drag system and as yet have not faulted me. Honestly I can't complain about any one of my Daiwas either.

Baitcast reels I use Quantum energy and Abu Revo STX

i find these have a smooth drag and are well priced (well my price range any way)and as my local tackle shop has a limited range of reels i chose these two out of what he had in stock. i hardly get any wind knots with 1000?

cheers

Sienna 2500
Sedona 1500

Landed a 58cm schoolie with the Sedona and 2kg Fireline the other day http://www.breammaster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20325 . That fish spent a good deal of time avoiding his photo session after being stung by the trebbles of an SX40. The sedona's drag system behaved entirely predictably and I was never in doubt that with the help of that excellent piece of hardware I would eventually win the argument.
Honestly, with a few phone calls around the Adelaide tackle stores I ended up scoring one for $75. That's just stunning value for money. Would I spend 4, 5, 10 times more on a breaming real? Probably not. But then again I recently spent $4,600 on a digital SLR and one zoom lens. Some folks might find that a little excessive considering you can buy a perfectly decent entry level DSLD and kit lens for under a grand. So who knows what could happen if the "breaming on lures" thing really sucks me in.
