In the tackle shop in Shunshine has them. Kolliou's. Also the one in Hoppers Crossing i think has them.

yeah they are good rods ay
i have used my drunkn for carp, with unweighted miki monsters
and caught one 4.2kg, had awesome control with the rod
and gave it ago on the salmon yeatserday
hooked what i thought was a trevally at first
but was a good salmon 45-50 cm
had plenty of backbone to keep him away form the pilons
i have also dead lifted 1.25kg with the rod
and the bend in it is insane, i recocn its awesome for a 1-2kg rated rod

Honestly though, a 2500 shimano would make an ideal match imo.
Haha I'll keep that in mind man, just scoping out the market at the moment and weighing up possibilities. Cool, thanks for that!

Thats awesome to pull a 4kg fish on a 1-2kg rod. I was too scared to use my drunk monkey for bass, i was too scared to snap it. Just a question what would be the heaviest jig head you would use as i want to know if a 1/8 -1/6 size jig head would be too heavy for this size rod??

yeah it was good fun
i used myne for everything
it could possibly be a little heavy
but the rod is rated .5 to 4grams
i was using it for salmon and trevally he other day
and i was casting a 1/8 oz jighead no problems
was throwing it a fair distance
i was also casting a 1/4oz blade
which did feel abit weird, and i wasnt pushing too hard either
but it did handle it
so it should handle 1/6oz
i just do a side cast with the heavier weights
Cheers

Hi guys!

New to the forums here and just want to say how awesome this site is!

I am very interested in getting either the drunkn monkey or itchy twitchy but I have only had the chance to have a feel of the itchy twitchy.

For those of you that have both or have felt both, how much softer is the drunkn compared to the itchy?

I will be pairing my purchase with a team daiwa advantage 2000a reel.

Thanks in advance guys

Im looking at getting either a Two drunken monkeys, or an Itchy Twitchy II for my new Caldia 2004. Which would be more suited to long casts using say 1/12 - 1/20th jigheads?
Also, will 6lb sunline PE joined to 6lb FC leader run through the guides ok?
cheers

I don't have the Itchy, but I have a drunken monkey and I've run both 6lb sunline with 8lb leader through the guides and it's been great. Casts weightless down to 1/12-8 a mile. I tie a pretty awful knot too.

i agree with the other reply
i reccon the drunkn is perfect for what you want
it will deffinatly suit the 2004
as it suits my 2004 luvias
it is a light rod
but it does have plenty of guts
and can run a kg of drag no problems
light tip
i use myne for reddies and stuff
i cast down to 1/32 on it no problems
the micro guides arent any problem at all either
i have the one piece one, the two piece ones are a little heavier that the one piece rods too
but they are still good

Received my "two drunken monkies" today, and im very impressed with it. fairly lightweight and looks good matched with a caldia. Cant wait to get out fr a fish with it. I was worried about the micro guides having not seen one in the flesh, but i dont reckon it will be a problem, they dont seem that small. feels sweet.
