here is a rough description
dielectric grease is NON conductive

Dielectric grease is an effective barrier to moisture and protects electrical connections, ignition parts and wiring from moisture, salt, dirt and corrosion.

where the pins/connection do not touch it protects that area
and helps to keep the stuff that makes electrolysis out as it is protected.

Any way direct wiring will solve it totally but the info was for the guys who till use the plug
and good job on the rewire.
