camp cooking
Camping shouldn't mean starving.
I don't know about you blokes, but I tend to eat better when I go camping than I do at home. Even more-so when I take the lady-boss. For example: Roast rack of lamb Chicken wings: Roast chook: It's easy to eat well away from home. I rely on a little WeberQ, but any BBQ with a roasting hood will do. I also use a cheap single burner cooker to boil water on to cook the green veg. Best tip I have for a quick easy roast is to put your meat into one of those disposable alu. trays and add your (already peeled and cut) taters, carrot etc. Then Vacuum seal the whole lot! This stops the peeled spud from going brown. Preheat your (hooded) BBQ according to makers directions and cook your roast. When it's nearly done heat up a can of peas on the gas burner, and use the alu. tray the roast was cooked in to make some gravy. Because you did most of the prep at home it doesn't take much more work than your mates steak and beans - but I know which I'd sooner be eating! |
