2018 Getaway Outdoors WA Bream Classic Boat and Kayak Series Anouncment

The WA Bream Classics for both the boat and kayak scene is now being run by West Australian Tournament Anglers. The main people behind WATA are Alex Greisdorf, Kim McIntyre, Joseph Gardner, and myself (Shane Owens). We aim to carry on the fantastic work that the previous organisers in Ian Sewell, Nic Cuccovia and Richard Davie put together over the last three years and deliver an enjoyable tournament series for 2018.
We are as passionate for our bream tournaments as anyone in this state. Therefore, we have taken on the responsibility of providing the West Australian bream anglers a boat and kayak series so the scene stays strong in WA and continues to grow. In doing so this will be run so that most of the funds collected from your entries goes back to you in prizes with a percentage used for expenses that each event costs to run plus what we need to purchase equipment.
In order to help us deliver and grow a quality tournament series its essential we receive plenty of support for both the boat and kayak rounds. New anglers are always welcome especially with how welcoming the guys and girls are in the tournament scene. We’ve seen many new anglers make friends straight away that extend well beyond the tournaments which also makes these events so rewarding to be a part of. And because we’ve gotten to know just how wonderful the people are who take part in these events, it would be an absolute shame to lose these tournaments where we all get together for a good time and enjoy friendly competition on the water. So without your support we simply couldn’t run a kayak and boat series that offers so much for each competitor may they be new or not.
We also want to advise that the organisers will be competing in these events as well. After all it is our collective passion for fishing bream tournaments that has led to us at WATA taking over the running of the WA Bream Classics. But at the same time we won’t be competing in all of the events. An organiser will sit out an event to make sure everything is set up and ready for use so that each event can run smoothly and efficiently to ensure the competitors as an enjoyable experience as possible.
As mentioned before it’s our goal to carry on the standards set by the previous organisers and deliver a quality tournament series. There for we encourage input from you with ways in which you feel we can run a better series for the following year. All ideas are welcome as constructive criticism is essential in helping the series grow and improve with each year. However, we would ask that any ideas and suggestion are sent to us as private messages so that we can confer before there is any public comment.
Thank you for reading this announcement and we hope to see you down at the events this year for what should be an exciting boat and kayak series for 2018.
Regards WATA
