Fg knot for sure. Once u have tied it a few.times you can do it in 90seconds and is so strong. i had tried everything before this knot and locked drags and angry jacks snapped every knot in 20lb braid.and leader except the fg.

Bloody hell
I must be doing some thing wrong. That knot is hard as hell and im generally pretty knot savvy. I can barely get a start on it with 80lb braid and 100lb leader.
More practice required.
Might just stick with wind ons me thinks

YouTube it, awesome
It's crap and hard to use, I have one and a waste of money.
I can tie an FG in under 2 mins, I can tie it even in the dark.
Learn it and you wont use any other knot!
I use it from trout to GT's, so 2lb to 250lb.
Nothing better than snagging and popping the jig off but always retaining the leader!
The finger thing is a little tricky to get through your head but once mastered easy peasy!

There are heaps of variations of the fg knot. all are more or less the same. The first version i learnt was one off YouTube called the sebile knot. you don't.need to use the tricky finger thing to wrap. i have now settled on a bit of a modified version of the sebile knot. adding a few more wraps and half hitches and finishing it a little different.

Can't post a link from my phone for some reason. I just typed fg knot into Google and it came up. You can also search thetightlinetv on YouTube. That should work.

Dominated the fg knot. It's now part of my line up, but the lightest I'd use it is on my barra gear. Still takes about 5-10 minutes to tie but strong as all f and thin too. Did it the fish head way, easiest I have found.
Also mastered twisted leaders. Killin it today.
shame there's a cyclone warning and I don't think ill be out to test them any time soon.

Twisties pop way ealier than FG's. Lost a few Orian's chasing GT's with em. The Nomad dudes then showed me FG and threw out all my twisties!

Try in your light stuff with 25 chris cross, one half hitch, pull tight, then another 4 half hitch to lock it down. I fish 4lb 4lb for trout and it spins me out on how hard I can pull on it before something gives!

The lowest I use is 20lb castway and 12lb fluro leader, so it shouldn't be too bad aye

does this look alright?

fg knot tied with 30lb pink bionic braid onto 45lb schneider monfilament leader, i think it might be my new knot for barra, etc. saves a bit on buying/making windons and stuffing around with twisted leaders.

did some pull tests, pretty bloody strong knot

can now tie in sub 5mins, happy with that

let me know what ya's reckon

cheers
