6 lb all the way. I have recently started using a 4-10 lb 6'4 black label which is an absolute killer in the snags, and has really helped me get some good fish out of heavy cover. I used to get busted off all the time on 6 on light rods, but switching to something with more backbone alows you to stun the fish and turn it in your direction before it even knows what is going on. It worked for me this weekend.

I stepped up to 8lb recently but still getting smoked so I think the above is my issue with a lighter rod I use & maybe need something with more pulling power.
I have noticed less smaller fish with the heavier leader as mentioned above. Good topic cheers
