6 lb all the way. I have recently started using a 4-10 lb 6'4 black label which is an absolute killer in the snags, and has really helped me get some good fish out of heavy cover. I used to get busted off all the time on 6 on light rods, but switching to something with more backbone alows you to stun the fish and turn it in your direction before it even knows what is going on. It worked for me this weekend.

Agree mate...Since I have switched over to a rod with a bit more grunt,I have found that I have alot more stopping power,and can turn there head alot quicker,I still loose the odd fish (more so from pulling the hooks,from going so hard) but thats just part of the game. My landing rate has definetly improved but

I stepped up to 8lb recently but still getting smoked so I think the above is my issue with a lighter rod I use & maybe need something with more pulling power.
I have noticed less smaller fish with the heavier leader as mentioned above.
