Tips for Trout

Hey fellas,

I have a Trout Comp coming up with my Angling Club and i'm after a few tips as Trout has just never really been my thing. I rarely get dragged away from the salt unless for the odd Bass sesh. I have caught plenty of Trout up Mitta Mitta/ Anglers Rest way but it is not common for me to target Trout often.

I'm after a few tips on good hardbodies/plastics to use, techniques and general locations if anyone has any for Gippy, don't want to travel to far, meaning in country terms no longer than a couple of hours. Fly is not really an option for me at the moment cause i suck and need practice.

I think most will be heading up Dargo way so i need to head somewhere other than this as most are bait fishos and i would rather avoid the crowd, payed off for me so far so would like to keep it this way.

Would obviously like to get onto a few bigger specimens as well.

Cheers in advance Fellas
