Thumbs up Berkley's new fireline Exceed.

I was at DohDohDoh today looking for some line.
When I got to the counter I handed a spool of power pro braid to the salesman and he asked If I had seen the new Berkley Exceed.
I had a look at the 6.6lb exceed and it looked awesome it was only .09 dia thick and the 8.8lb was 0.12 thick, mind you the standard 6pnd berkley is 0.15 dia.
This was the best part a spool of 8.8lb at 148yards/135mtr only cost me $24.95.
I did a couple knots and I could not break them.
Next time your at DohDohDoh check them out see what you think.

I got the 3.3lb and wasn't happy with it at all. Casted really well but after 5 wind knots I wont be using it again. Maybe the thicker stuff is better I dunno.

Ha ha that's the exact reason I went for the 8.8lb.
I have a dam about 50mtr behind my house, think I'll have a few flicks and see what happens in the wind.
Unfortunately no fish in the dam but could change soon cause I've seen a good amount of bug life in there.
Red fin would love it.

It was nice having orange in the mix cause most of my line's a yellow and green.

I've given this line a bit of a work out in the last few days fishing for redfin and I'm pretty happy so far.
It still feels a little like the old F/L but a little softer and thinner for the same poundage.
I've flicked sp's to 4" with a 1/6 jig head an some light hard bodies.
I haven't caught anything big enough to pull drag yet but I'v had a couple snags and I haven't snapped the braid once yet.
Probably just jinxed my self.ha ha ha.
I casted straight into the wind a couple times and didn't get any wind knots but time will tell with more fishing.

Think I might get some 6.6lb which is the same as 4lb in the old F/L size and give that a good run also.

Exceed on Stradic

Just spooled up my 2500 with it in 4kg. A bit heavier than I usually spool up however judging by some of the comments it may just be a good move.

i used mine for the first on the weekend (6.6lbs).
I was casting unweighted plastics through to plastics with 3.5gram jigheads. It was pretty windy but no wind knots. Hopefully test it out more over this easter long weekend.

Yep it is. Supposedly it softens after a bit of use but I haven't gotten to that stage yet
