Microsoft picture viewer, with the red screen icon. Resize to documents size and save and viola...

Thats actually how i save all the pics on my laptop when they're 2mb or so and resize to a smaller yet still good definition format and only 250 450 kb.

For instance the picture attached is only 174 kb and has ample resolution for forum viewing etc - as per the last screen shot of that same pic opened up in another screen and blown up.
Attached Images
File Type: jpg 20151127_194652-1.jpg (174.1 KB, 1 views)
File Type: jpg 20180101_184536.jpg (127.8 KB, 119 views)
File Type: jpg Screenshot_20180101-184751.jpg (301.3 KB, 0 views)

If looking to resize many images, can also recommend PictureResize.

Download application here
http://www.rw-designer.com/NT/6.0/PhotoResize400.exe
(or if you rather find the download link yourself, you can visit http://www.rw-designer.com/picture-resize)

Rename the application file to
PhotoResize1000SNOUEVK200

Keep it on your desktop.

Then in the folder with your images you want to resize, just drag and drop the files onto the exe application icon, and it will automatically create a new image file with suffix "-1000" in the same folder
e.g.
If you drag and drop DSC0001.jpg in Folder X onto the exe application icon, a new image DSC0001-1000.jpg is created in Folder X.

The funny filename does the following to suit the BM forums:

1000 - resizes the image so the max dimension (horiz or vert) is 1000 px
S - skip images that are already smaller than 1000 px
N - sharpens the image after resizing
O - no need to press enter at the end of the resize process
U - skip images that have already been resized
E - keeps the dates the image/file was taken/modified
V - auto-rotate images (for phones/cameras with accelerometer/s)
K200 - keeps the file size below 200 kB

Then add attachment as you would normally.

Another easy way to resize is in Windows Paint.
Copy and paste your picture to Paint, select Resize and when the window appears select Pixels, change horizontal to 1000, then click OK.
Save your picture to My Pictures, Desktop or wherever you normally upload them from and you're done.

Thats a shame Mr Perch.
Not that I need much encouragement, but your posts of your EP exploits would always reinforce my desire to return to that waterway as soon as possible.

Reports are just not the same on FB. There are definitely enough loyal members to keep BM going on for a while yet.

I am new to this forum so I will tread with some care......not too much though

FB is a complex beast inhabited by keyboard heroes, morons and idiots in such numbers that they tend to drown out meaningful comment and debate.
Part of the demise of forums is due to the inability and general disinterest in anything that requires knowledge, thought and the ability to express anything in more than ten mis spelt, incoherent words.

Sorry I missed the glory days, but a move to FB would be a retrograde step IMHO.

At the same time that them wot have something to input are getting time poor and have evolved along their path way beyond the heady days of first enlightenment.

Solutions I dont have . But observation tells me that many are alienated by focus on top end gear and whilst its nice to own and use its not adding or attracting new entrants.

Could it be that what is needed is some thought provoking topics.

Question

Why not get to the guts of some issues.....for example follow " whats your all time favourite colour H B " with...........when do you use your favorite colour, and why, what do you think it is about the lure that provokes a response that others dont have?

Just some random thoughts and bias observations to get some blood flowing perhaps.

Cheers

Everyone who fishes now seems to want something out of it - followers, likes, a sponsorship. And to get these things, you have to appeal to the masses. And the masses are on social media.

I just had my first “tackle discussion” on a fb page.

Needless to say I won’t be moving across if it happens

Nagz, you ain't seen nothin yet. I had a bloke, in the exact same group you had your discussion in, try to tell me that the second hand V1 battler that he was trying to sell for $500 was in fact a brand new V3 model, that daiwa had stopped making the ones with camo grips and gone back to black EVA. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Don’t do it! Facebook has a few pros but many more cons and I deleted myself completely from the Facebook insta world about five months ago after being hooked to it every day this decade! What a relief to be outa the crap.
Hundreds of “friends” that wouldn’t know who you are in the real world.
Too much noise and no substance to 99% of the Facebook scene.
Key board warriors and one great big circle jerk that I was done with.

BM is my only avenue so I might get back on board more.
By the way I’ve noticed a resurgence here well done to the regulars that kept it alive!

I have heard of this too. I will try and confirm this.

What I heard was, true or not, apparently the V2 with the camo have been changed to the black EVA because they were not selling.

That means the V1 and 'V3' or just a different coloured grip V2 however you want to call it are the same rod. I was told you can tell but looking at the ring surrounding the top of the grip in the V3 is red compared to the V1 which is silver.

I'll try and find confirmation of this, I'm not 100% sure but what you said rung a bell when I read it.
