Minn Kota Pedal Maintenance

I got my Minn Kota back from BLA today and received this on maintaining your foor pedal.

Glad you got it back mate all fixed i presume. Did find out what the heck was wrong with it?

I haven't been able to test it yet, that will be over Easter.

They replaced a fair bit of the unit. I'll post up a bit more detail later but there is a known problem with the "batch" my Minn Kota Riptide ST 55 is from.

that info may have been useful 6 months ago for me! im on to my 2nd pedal on my riptide 55, I put inox on mine when it started not turning in both directions freely, it then got far worse.

Tried to get a new pedal under warranty but they wanted the whole minn kota for them to see if it was the pedal. Dickheads!

for $140 it was easier to buy a new one.

I brought a brand new pedal just after Christmas and its all ready stuffed sending it back to bla so over them braking down.....

that electrical contact cleaner is good sh-t ,my GPS was playing up & thought it was the antenna & someone recommended spraying contacts with it & away she went

Carragant is onto it

Had the same prob with my same pedal.Would turn left but not right.Sprayed it with contact cleaner and its worked like a dream ever since.

I try not to get it wet in the first place but now and then i will pull the foot pads off and give it a quick clean as i get a few twigs and some debris under neath from catching more trees than fish.If i do get it wet i just lay it on its side in the sun.
