The greens are just weekend socialists and communists masquerading as environmentalists, to put it politely. To put it impolitely, I would say they are hypocritical, un-Australian scum!

Obviously a ridiculous policy but i dont consider all green policy garbage, on most social and evironmental issues they hold far more progressive positions then the major parties.

Also god damn i wish the "shooters and fishers" party did not exist. Rec fisherman are bundled in with these "shooters" quite often to the determent of the rec angling sector.

^This. I'm all for hunting, shooting and fishing, but the S&F part are a bunch of witless muppets.

Not sure why every one is down on the shooters, fishers and now farmers party, as they are the only party in the senate that directly support the interests of fishos.

With the change of preferences voting it is possible they may lose one or both seats in the senate. If this happens, say hello to a monster marine park in NSW and goodbye to a huge chunk of fishing area. The greens will be able to run rampant with their ridiculous policies.

The Greens can come up with any ridiculous policy that comes into their simple heads, but it's all totally irrelevant because they will never have to take the costs or the consequences into consideration, because they will never be able to form a government in the foreseeable future. If the brain trust of this country finally ever drops to a situation where they can form a government, their policies would be proven to be total failures. In the meantime, it's just so much hot air.

Money is what you use to scare politicians...

Start interest in preparing a mass compensation claim for rods,m reels, tackle, specialized equipment, boats four wheel drives, kayaks, etc etc etc that were bought by fishermen for the purpose of fishing.

3.4million rec fisho's, each with a overall average of $500 (conservativley) in fishing gear...

$1,700,000,000 compensation paid out, extremelly conservativley that is...

Sounds like a bad position to be in...

Your conservative guess of $500 per angler scares me more than it would scare a politician 😕

Lets not forget how many tackle stores and wholesale suppliers that would then be made redundant.

Its not out of the realm of possibility. This is going to be a very close election and the greens leader has already publicly said, he will be happy to work with any of the major parties to form government. Both parties have said they wont be doing deals with the greens, but at the end of the day if one side see's a chance to form government who knows. Wouldn't be the first time a party leader has done an about face.

My biggest concern, is with the changes in senate voting, it is likely the greens will hold the balance of power in the senate, so the major parties will be forced to work with them to get legislation through, so you will no doubt see more green legislation getting through, as a result.

The greens have been pushing for this change in senate voting for the last 10 years, as they knew they would be the big winners out of it.

progressive or regressive?
You should check out the social and environmental conditions in bankrupt countries - because that is exactly what would happen under greens rule. Their progressive policies led to over 1000 men, women and children to drown at sea and they have absolutely no remorse whatsoever.....simply dismissed as 'accidents happen' by hanson-young.......they're progressive alright, they'll progress you to poverty and death far quicker than anyone else.

ahahha righto mate. 3rd world "bankrupt countries" dont hold progressive policy at all, they cant afford to. I think you will find countries with the most progressive social and economic policy are mostly scandanavian and are among the worlds wealthiest.

Recreational fishing is a vile disgusting and barbaric activity.

Commercial fishing is absolutely fine though.
