Geelong waterfront

Am heading to Geelong for a conference for a couple of days staying close to the waterfront, near the carousel. I've driven through that area and I think there is a pier there that looked vaguely interesting for bream. Looking through old links, it sounds like there are some small flathead about that general area, but I was wondering if anyone has fished around there and is it worth taking a travel rod with a few lures to chase bream? I'll be land-based.

I wouldnt waste your time, head to the Barwon much better.

There are some schools of trevs and salmon that swim by the pier every now and again but not really worth it.

Good luck either way
