Major Craft Crostage Casting rods - Thoughts?

Hey Breammasters,

Anyone have experience with Major Craft Crostage Casting rods? They seem quite good value and I was thinking of picking up either the CRXC-70L or CRXC-73ML for my young nephew to use on surface kings and school tuna. As for a matching reel, I have an original Certate 3500 or a Saltiga 3500 Game to choose from.

Thoughts?

Cheers in advance
S

I have the 7'6" CRK 762M RATED AT 1 -5Lb that I use for SP's
Its only been used for a year on bream but its my go to for that application.

So as far as the Brand performance I run it alongside Daiwa Gekkabijin, Jackall/ Shimano, Pflueger Patriarch, Jackson, Storm Trickster and Dark Horse rods....its no slouch.

As a Majorcraft addict, I believe all their rods, including the most basic are well above expected. They are super high quality, impeccably QA'd and perform faultlessly and importantly, when treated as they should be provide exceptional longevity.
I don't own the the specific rods you are looking at but I do own 13 Majorcraft rods.
Based on your requirements, yet only on the specs, not experience - I would recommend the CRXC-73ML.
And no - not sponsored, not affiliated. (Not that I would be!)

Absolutely spot on above comment. Have 5 MC rods myself cant fault QC honestly - just can't honestly guage their ratings in Japan to make a valid purchase on. Hence why scanning forums etc to get a good opinion on what a rod performs like before buying one.

I've got 3 Major Craft rods and they all outperform rods you'd get locally for twice the price. You can't go wrong with them.

Major Craft Crostage Casting rods - Thoughts?

Thanks for input all,

I currently have the one MJ rod, an SKR-T762M and cannot fault the built quality, but it's reassuring to hear of similar observations from other models.

I suppose the build quality was never a concern, but the question posed was intended to be more about how the proposed casting models stacked up in terms of stated versus actual rating, how they felt in the hand etc. Nevertheless, on paper alone, I'm with Bassifier and leaning towards the CRXC-73ML (PE 1.5-3) over the CRXC-70L (PE 1-2) as probably a better match for the reels I have on hand.

Thanks again and cheers
