Upgrading/swapping drag clicker

I'm just wondering if it's possible to swap the drag clicker on my certate 2000 (2010) I want it to be a bit louder and crisper as I find that compared to my 2013 certate it's almost silent?

could be that your spool is too high from too many spacers on the shaft and is only just touching the clicker?

Rookie error, it was the spacer. Cheers

be carefull of removing spacers as the line lay will change. and could end up with a lot of windnots later on
if you did add the spacer yourself, then did you tighten the drag knob to full lock to settle the spacer in properly?

As above don't remove the spacer, the line will build up on the spool lip and plenty of knots will follow.

You may find that the internal refiling on the spool (where the clicking noise is made) may be worn as its stainless steel vs. aluminium, otherwise the horse shoe clip that sits on the spool support may need some bending to make it stand a little more proud to make contact with the spool.

Keeping this area lightly greased helps with longevity and that crisp sound. Also the plastic spools on the Daiwa reels equipped with them will sound more crisp than those with whole aluminium spools.

2000 sized certates didn't have the Air spool AFAIK.

also putting in grease actually lessens the sound. but its always good to have some lubricant there so just a tiny bit is always good.

as mentioned also the spring can be tuned to make it sound a lil bit better.

Just to emphasise the difference in the sounds.
