Boat Fishing

Got my youngest out for his first ever trip to fish from a boat thanks to a generous offer from Yellaterra. My son got the fish of the trip with a 23-25cm bream within about a minute of his first bait hitting the water. He also managed another 2 or 3 around the 15cm mark. Us adults didn't really get a chance to have a fish, with 3 kids on board we were kept busy but Yellaterra did still manage 3 or 4 bream around the 20cm mark in between fighting his young fella for the controls to the electric. I was kept busy pouring apple juice & rebaiting for my boy so I only got about 6 casts in & drew a blank but that doesn't bother me. It was a trip for the kids & they had a ball.

I can't think of many people that would offer someone they have never met a free boat fishing trip but Yellaterra did exactly that simply because he thought my son might enjoy the experience, which he did immensley. So, many thanks to Yellaterra for extending us such a generous offer & for basically being a good bloke all round. I hope I can return the favour for you one day mate.

PS: sorry about the blood on the first fish, it was deep hooked & things were a bit too hectic for me to give the fish a dunk before the photo. I assure you the hook was simply left where it was & the fish released to fight another day.

Thanks for the kind words people, I had a great time and so did my two kiddies. I'm always amazed that anyone can catch anything with my two feral beasts running around the boat trying to seize control of the vessel every five minutes!
They certainly wore themselves out though, the two year-old was asleep by the time we pulled out of the boat ramp carpark!
Glad you two could come along Graeme, we'll be sure to go again some time.
Cheers,
Barak

Thanks for sharing guys, it sounds like you had a great trip and even managed a couple of fish!

Excellent news to see both your kids enjoying it so much!
