Black & White with Colour

Just for you Ruski and Emo

Step 1:
Start by opening your image.

Step 2:
Go to layers, Chanel Mixer click! Name layer "black and white"

Step 3:
Chanel Mixer window will open, click monochrome(bottom left hand corner), your image with change to black and white click ok.

Step 4:
Select the "Brush Tool" make sure your colours are black over white as seen in the image

Step 5:
Simply paint the colour back in! Resize the brush to get in the fiddly bits!

End result

I did it but the colour of the Bream is a little bland, I guess I could increase the saturation before I begin the layer business?

nice work there Emo!

as for the colour of the fish, you might be able to get the sat up abit dont push it to much as you will make the colour look unnatural!

Steve,

And if you want a white then black border, do the above step twice. First time, select a white border, then the black.

Have a play around with the border widths, it might be a bit different for PS v7.
