I've had 2 SR842's and they were nothing special IMHO, felt like I paid for the whole "loomis made in USA" tag rather then the rod. I'm referring to my Gekka AGS's not the old battlers btw. The AGS guides make all the difference.

Edit: just to add, my gekkas are SVF + AGS. Where as the new battlers are SVF compile X + AGS so they'll be just as good (theoretically) in terms on sensitivity.

I think about $700-800.
Seems daiwa Japan haven't developed AGS guides for bc rods yet so Daiwa Australia have asked for them and in the process of testing.

BC models for the Battler are due in summer apparently!

Daiwa Australia's just deleted steez, so more likely they'll be around $649 then

well if the tournament bream specialist rods retail for $320 they use SVF blanks and "steez" grips and have almost no "bling" and SS Sic's

I can't see why the Battlers won't be a <$500 rod I reckon $450-$500 will be the price, I think with an extra $150 on top of the bream specialist rods price they'd be able to put AGS guides on and add a little extra bits here and there.

i wouldnt be surprised if the ags guides cost $150 more than ss sics, ti sics are close to 3x (sometimes close to 4x) the cost of ss sics, carbon is a lot more costly to produce aswell

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if they're <$500 I'd like The Beowolf but if they're more than that I'll probably just get a MB rod for my next spin.

you seem to have forgot the major reason why the price would be higher...

one word "Battler". Its all about marketing and that will add an extra $100 on its own I reckon! That said, Id love to be pleasantly surprised!

$599 to start with, but then without doubt some shop somewhere will do them for $549 a few weeks after they hit the shelves and then Mo's will match it and they'll sit at that price for a year or so until ray & annes sells them at $520 and then mo's will match it again and before we know it all of my money is gone and I still can't afford anything.

Had a play with a few of the new battlers today, really nice rods.
Not what I expected as I was not a fan of the ags ajing rods and I thought the Battlers would be similar, but they have a bit more tip action which I love.
Ordered a noodle master for good measure

Managed to have a play around with the beowolf in a shop today, it was an early production model and it was very nice. A crisp blank that is fairly stiff but so light. Casting would be amazing, for both distance and accuracy.

Plenty of low down power to turn those big fish in structure, and the rrp will be around the $650 mark
