It may have already been asked elsewhere but what is the reasoning behind not disclosing the event starting location before the prefish ban? Makes it hard to prefish, need a day in each system and a day in town.

The idea is so that we do not have 40 yaks pre fishing the same area causing there to be very few fish caught in a comp, for people looking from the outside and seeing no one catching fish is not much of an incentive to join in, nor is it good for weigh ins. We would like to see as many people as possible catch fish during the competition. It is not an issue for boats as they can travel wherever they want in a short amount of time. Yaks however will smash every bank within 5kms in the lead up to a comp hence low fish numbers at weigh ins.

please also keep in mind that we are about trying to grow the sport not making changes to annoy people!

Personally I would suggest prefishing somewhere else, it is not about finding the fish on the day as they will have moved anyway. Fishing the couple of days prior to an event on another water and having your reflexes tuned will be of more use than prefishing a water that you want to fish in 2 weeks time. Most times fish are not in the same place the next day let alone a week later...

Thanks for the reply Ian, that makes perfect sense. Only a few weeks away now, should be another fantastic event!

Well said Ian... But I reckon any New M/F Novice Yakkers should go out 1st then any one that has never landed a fish in a comp follow by all the guys that have come 1st-3rd in the last comp to go very last
