I experimented with a knot called the twisted leader knot found in Geoff Wilson's "Guide to rigging braid, dacron & gelspun lines" Excellent knot and one I will be using exclusively from now on. I use to use the improved albright but this knot is so much easier to tie and is very very strong. Geoff Wilson rates this knot the strongest method of tying a single strand of gelspun line to a monafilament leader. I put it to the test last saturday with my PB flathead of 76cm - 4LB main, 12Lb leader.

Thanx Niz,
My only concern with this knot is that mono lines are different to flurocrbon and fluro carbn being harder might mean that the gelspun would dig into the flurocarbon making it weak. I dunno though i'll have to test it! |

Well I did some testing last weekend and it held up pretty well. I find it alot easier to tie than the alright aswell. I landed my pb flathead using that knot 76cm on 4lb fireline and 12lb nitlon leader.
