Motorguide Lowrance Smartsteer

Fellas,
How many here are using their motorguides along with the Lowrance HDs units to take advantage of the smartsteer technology.

im wanting to see if theres any feedback good or bad.

also to clear a couple of doubts of mine.

if you have the bow pointed towards the shoreline/beach and are drfiting from left to right, and came across a patch of fish and i used anchor mode. will the bow of the boat still point towards the shore while in anchor mode, or will it swing around depending on tide and wind?

This next one might be a tricky..

also heard reports of anchor mode not being spot on (being off with distance similar to distance from bow to where the sounder unit is located in the console), and the fact was due to being able to choose in the settings menu which gps ( lowrance or motorguide)controls the smartsteer.
can anyone shine some light on this one?

Motorguide/Lowrance

Hi, I have been using this setup now for about 8 months, it is fantastic.
When anchor lock is engaged, the boat will still point into the wind, the electric motor is at the bow, so it has to.
I have no experience of the anchor lock being inaccurate, but I normally engage it using the remote control, rather than the sounder. The 1.5m 'jog' feature means that you can adjust your position without too much trouble.
SO much more accurate than the other brand I had on my boat previously.
