CR2 are Canon raw files, so what ever Canon Camera you are using came with canon software (CD) that allows you to process the raw file and export as jpegs.

Digital Photo Pro is the Canon software for Raw file conversion. If you don't have a copy of Lightroom or PS, you can get the Canon software here:

http://www.canonwatch.com/new-versio...-for-download/

Otherwise, email me the cr2 file and I will do it for you....

Assuming you are running windows you can download a program called Fast Picture Viewer. It will allow you to view your CR2 images in My Pictures. If I remember it cost me about $15 but you get a 2 or 3 week free trial to test it out. IMO it was well worth the cash.
Both my Canon DSLR's have a setting where I can take a CR2 and a JPEG image at the same time. Perhaps your camera has this setting as well.
Apart from that, I convert my images from CR2 to JPEG in Photoshop Lightroom 5 or CS6.
If you're considering getting a Photoshop program, take a look at Elements. I think they're up to Elements 11 these days.

Picasa also lets you view cr2 files, not sure about converting them, but worth a look as it's free.

Converts a multitude of file formats online.
As said you should be able to select your output on the camera too.

I convert mine in lightroom. Import into lightroom if you have it, then export as a jpeg.

GIMP is a free editing software. Not as polished as PS but is certainly capable of converting cr2.I use it for all my editing now
