Water is bad for braid!!!! Also knots.

Doing some braid testing for another project.
What has amazed me is that braid can loose up to 30% of its breaking strain by soaking it in water for 30+min !!

On another note after doing around 50 seperate leader knots (improved albright 10 up 8 back)only one broke at the knot, the rest were all leader of braid failures.

I was leaving very long tags and when the line was under high strain i noticed the tag slip slightly.
So I have come to the conclusion that knot failures might be more due to not tightening them enough before trimming the tag end.

No more wasting time doing FG for bream braid.

If you use a lighter and burn down the tag till it forms a bulb you can eliminate most of the tag slippage.

I do agree though unless you need the thin diameter knot such as the FG or PR the Albright is a solid alternative.
