Zipping your way around OZ...and Beyond

Weve all come across the odd chain letters are not to mention Chain emails...

Yeah you know the ones,, "send this email to at least 25 people within 25 minutes and youll be showered with luck, not to mention the endless amounts of cash that will, come your way".

Back when i was 12, before the days of email, i was on the job doing my normal early morning paper delivery round. To my suprise i found a balloon that had finally lost is wind, which come crashing to the ground. This less than lifeless balloon , had a piece of ribbon attached to it and upon that ribbon was a note...

The note read-

"Congratulations on being the Lucky finder of this note. This balloon was released by Bill Brady from 6 English Street Port Melbourne", on the 5th of January 1985. This ballon is a magic balloon that will bring wealth and fortune to those who have found it. To receive the true wealth please return this letter along with $10 Dollars to the name attached on this note".

So i Quickly completed the final few blocks of my paper round and hurried home to post of my ticket to wealth, not to mention my weeks pay..Needless to say im still waiting

Now heres the fun bit. Please be aware, this is not a Chain letter...yeah whatever, heard that before This post is more a Chain reaction to see what can be achieved on one lure?? I was hoping to obtain a lure and take it out for a swim and land at least one fish on it. Upon landing the fish i will post up my catch and with a bit of deatil on how when and where he was landed.

I will then offer up the lure to next happy candidate, and post this lure on. The new candidate can intern do the same, and forward on

Should the lure be lost, snagged or damaged beyond reapir, the last happy fisherman must replace the lure with another equvalent and forward to the next angler.

There is no get rich quick scheme here, or prizes... Just a bit of fun to what value we can get out of a lure in different part of the state with different anglers.

The lure will have to be a Hardbody, but im not sure which lure to start with.. Any recommendations?? Or maybe we could get one of the usual suspects to throww in the first lure to get the wheels in motion

First stop will be Melbourne CBD, PM me in you wish to be the next angler.

Cheers Nick

Lol, I like the sound of this game.

My hand is on offer to accept the torch if passed to me. It would be fun to put a notch on it........and see the adventures this lure has!!!!!!!

Hard idea to improve apon but.......................can this lure be given a name? Just for fun? Something fitting for the life this lure will live.

Sweet idea! And a fitting name would top it off as well. I suggest a lure that has all round angler and fish appeal, and a proven track record, like an SX40.

Call it James Pond, just like the game. Double Bubble 7, mission: to make the waters safe for baitfish, one predator at a time.

Lol this is a pisser,

Maybe choosing a lure that has good snag resistance would be a good idea? W-hooks?

Some rules might have to be implemented to ensure the best/longest possible journey for the lure.

Like: Once a fish is caught by the 'lure bearer' it should not be cast again in an attempt to catch more or bigger. One fish per bearer and put aside safely to be sent to the next.???

I think a small shallow diving hb would be the best. If it gets snagged you can easily reach or swim down to get it. The lure will be intact untill it comes up to QLD. First cast it be smashed off by a Jack. haha

Great idea Nick, how about the lure travels interstate after each posting? Maintains the interest and keeps the HB moving.

Will be interesting to see what is being caught in the various states & seasons.
