I'll show you mine when I can convince my wife to work harder so we can afford one as well as the private school fees.
Thanks will do

Sorry Mines a 445 as well, bit of a mistype

Ducky what size motor are you running ????

Any comments about the motor as well would be great.

Seems they love a 90hp but was hoping to use 70hp Yamy 4stroke.

Cheers Nordy

Nordy my uncle has a 445r with 70hp Johnno 2 stroke... It's gutless. With the heavier 4 stroke it'll be worse again imo. Go as much hp the boat allows

Cobby, Thanks for the feedback Much App.

The 70hp Two Stroke is it a Old one ????

So looks like a 90hp in the min, and why most guys are fitting a 90hp it seems.

So now the delima 90hp Two Stroke or 90hp 4 stroke

Would Love 4 stroke just for the quietness and ease of fuel, But prob 40Kg Heavier mmmm Love to hear from others on there power plant .

Cheers Nordy

Battery placement for the elec motor, this may help with the 4 stroke weight.

Might need to do an offshore run before you confirm the placement of heavy items: ie- fuel, batts etc. Few bags of cement will help find the optimum if no one can help.

It's a late 90s model. Probably lost a couple of horses but everything with it is a ok compression etc.

Old man's got a 140hp Suzuki on a Caribbean Belmont. A little slower than the 115 Merc 2 stroke out of the hole it replaced otherwise top motor that's averaged 2.7km/litre in 95 hours over 1700km

Buy a yamaha or suzuki 4 stroke and you wont be let down. Haines have partnered with suzuki for their new signature boats and on the gold coast/brisbane all the coast guard have gone from yamaha to suzuki.

Yamaha are tried and tested though and have been the most popular best reviewed 4 stroke for the last 7-8 years only the last 18 months has seen suzuki really catch on. If i were to buy a new 4 stroke today it would be suzuki, the gold coast have some of the busiest waters in australia full of idiots and the fact the coast guard went from yamaha to suzuki speaks volumes.

I would not reccomend a 2 stroke on that configuration not only will you massively gimp your offshore capability but if you check a 2014/2015 4 stroke and its weight to a comparable 2 stroke the difference is very small and at times negligible considering you can carry far less fuel for far more miles.

the only other alternative is an e-tec but according to all the marine mechanics i enquired with about 6 months ago you have to have rocks in your head to buy an e-tec.

Yes so True

Going with Underfloor Fuel Tanks.

I see Formula Boats 15 carry 120 lts thats dam good

Also thinking 24V Trolling Batteries Forward, Also Live Well Forward get some weight off the Back End. That should help.

Must be the Deep V thats makes them bit tougher to get going.

Thanks Ladder Cat, Im with you.
I was was looking last night at the Suzuki 90hp 4 Stroke.
Much Lighter than the Yamaha.
All the reviews are Great. So thats what I was thinking as well.

Great to get a second opinion like that.

Cheers Nordy
