Best spinning reel for $200.

Hi guys.
I'm of to America soon and I was looking at buying a reel or two.
What do u guys suggest for my $200 price range.
I'm not fussed what brand as long as its a tough light reel in a 2500 size.
I already have a luvias , fuego , ci4 , ballistic , certate so something different would be cool.
Thanks heaps.

Btw ill be using it on the kayak so it needs to be salt water resistant.

no reel under $450 is salt resistant (meaning dont get them too wet)... most reels you name are good.... my rarenium cops a real flogging on squid and other fish and has been the best...

my old silver excellor gets the same treatment and also has never failed...

for yakking i bought 2 airds at $100 each and if i drown them i will sell them on here as " pre washed" reels then go buy new ones.,, and they also cop a hiding and have not failed..,,

Thanks guys.
One of the reels will be for a egi rod and the other for sp rod.
I'm very careful with my gear and I wash it after every trip.
Apart from the certate I have used all the mentioned on the kayak and they are all still good.

I did see a okuma RTX on a cabelas site which looked pretty nice at was $99.

the reason my reels are so smooth is i NEVER wash them..,,

as soon as you wash then water gets in ...,

a damp squeezed out chux is all you need to wipe them over but i do turn the tap water to a dribble and use it to rince the braid because doing that keeps it strong and you will notice that when it ages and your knots stay strong.

If they are specifically for yak fishing then I woud get 2 shimano sedonas. Cheap and great features for the price, ive had one since i started fishing about 4 years ago. Only serviced it once and its still smooth and going strong. Only thing with shimanos are the DohDohDohDoh drag clickers. They always break as they are too thin.

Keep an eye out for the 500 size, you'll have a giggle when you see how small they are.

try just looking for second hand if its just for the kayak. otherwise the ci4 are the best bet for salt water (carbon body/rotor). but best reel under 200 would be the Stradic FJ.

Saros or Stradic if you can get it for less than $200 would be pretty hard to beat.

Yeah your right Matt but me and the missus have saved a bit of spending money so I really don't think it's fair that she'll get her self heaps of shoes and handbags and all ill get is the memory's of the trip.
I'm going to buy a pair of kayak pants while I'm there too.
That counts as clothing doesn't it.

For $200 ish I have to give the stradic my vote, particularly for flogging about on a kayak where it's going to be soaked constantly. My stradic 2500FI is probably the reel ive used the most over the past 6 or 7 years and it's still going (relatively) strong after being used and abused in a variety of situations, some of which i should probably have been using a at least twice it's size. Good value reels.

Hmmm the Stradics are getting a lot of mention so ill definitely put it on my list.
I like the FJ Stradics, the xship makes a big difference in smoothness.
